Julie Industries Adds UTP Assets

(Wilmington, Massachusetts) - Julie Industries, located in Wilmington, MA, today announced the addition of ESD carpet products to its StaticSmartÔ line of ESD flooring products by completing a liquidation purchase of assets previously owned and marketed by United Technical Products (UTP) of Norwood, Massachusetts.

Julie's VP of New Business Development, Dave Long, announced that the inventory purchase should alleviate the possibility of supply interruption to most of UTP's former customers. Dave stated that "we have made a significant investment in previously manufactured materials, adhesive and raw materials while maintaining the former company's Dalton, Georgia distribution center. Julie has already arranged for the production of new goods to replenish inventory levels. Our goal is to minimize the inconvenience caused by the loss of a key supplier to America's technology leaders."

Several former key employees from the liquidated company have also joined Julie. Chris
Hughes, a 17-year veteran of UTP will become the StaticSmart flooring customer service manager for the Massachusetts-based company. To ensure the continued high quality of these products, Julie has also hired Michael Dillard, UTP's former technology director. Mike will be responsible for maintaining supply chains and developing new products under the StaticSmart label. To further minimize service disruption, the former company's toll free number (1-800-225-6052) and fax line will now ring at Julie's corporate offices.

Julie Industries develops and implements total environmental solutions for their clients' facilities and personnel, addressing their specific static control requirements in the most cost-effective manner possible with products like ESD carpet, rubber and polymeric flooring, personnel grounding devices and ergonomically correct ESD chairs and furniture.
