Electrostatics 2007
March 25-29
St. Catherine's College
Oxford, UK

This conference is organized by the Electrostatics Group of the Institute of Physics and continues the International Conference series on Electrostatics which takes place in the United Kingdom every four years.

A Sunday Workshop is aimed at those who wish to learn more about the principles of electrostatics and its implementation in industrial situations. The workshop will provide a discussion forum on the fundamentals, theory and hazards of electrostatics, and is sure to feature some memorable demonstrations.

In the main program, keynote presentations include:

Ignition risks from static electricity - problems solved?
Dr Martin Glor (Schweizerisches Institut zur Förderung der Sicherheit)

Process and Applications of Electrostatic Fiber Formation.
Professor Greg Rutledge (Massachusetts Institute of Technology)

Electric charges and forces in atomic force microscopy and nano-xerography
Professor Andreas Stemmer (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology ETH Center)

The program includes sessions on

* electrostatic hazards
* ESD/EOS
* Environmental electrostatics
* nanoelectrostatics
* modelling and simulation
* atmospheric electrostatics
* bioelectrostatics
* fluids
* planetary electrostatics
* materials and testing
* powders and aerosols

The oral presentation program has been finalized but those wishing to submit poster presentations can still do so on-line.
