Questions From Readers

The following question was submitted by reader Tom Culbertson of B.F. Goodrich Aerospace in response to Robert Meston's Original question about the dangers of CRTs:

"In searching for some answers to the potential danger CRTs pose to electronic devices during production, I came across your page in my search.

How do I find out what the answer is to this question? My internal documentation limits field voltage on CRTs in production areas to 200v, and some brands are within this. but is there a real potential for damage, or are wer just over zealous and spending our time on something that is not really an issue? Is there an existing standard, or study that refers to this?"
